MasterCPE is a member of NASBA and our courses are accepted by the WA State Board.

Renewal Date:

4/30 triennially

Reporting Period:

1/1 to 12/31 triennially

Required Hours:

120 hours. A CPA must complete a minimum of 20 hours of CPE in each year of the three-year reporting cycle.

Ethics Required:

4 hours in board approved ethics and regulations CPE.

Credit Limits:

  • Non-technical CPE credit is limited to 60 CPE hours per 3-year period. Non-technical subjects are: Communication skills; Interpersonal management skills; Leadership and personal development skills; Client and public relations; Practice development; Motivational and behavioral courses; and Speed reading and memory building.
  • No more than 60 hours of CPE credit in the aggregate will be allowed an any three-year CPE reporting period for: First time instructor/developer of a CPE course or college/university course; Authorship of published articles, books, and other publications relevant to maintaining or improving professional competence; or Service on the Board, Board committees, or peer review committees.
  • For both undergraduate and graduate courses one quarter credit equals 10 CPE credit hours and one semester credit equals 15 CPE credit hours.
  • The total number of nano learning credits allowed in any three-year CPE reporting period is 12 hours.
