Accepted:

Accepted. Michigan CPAs may earn credit for a maximum of 20 hours of self-study courses per continuing education period (July 1 - June 30). Excess self-study CPE earned may be carried forward to next period's self-study 20 hour limitation.

Renewal Date:

12/31 of odd numbered years

Reporting Period:

7/01 to 6/30 biennially ending on odd numbered years.

Required Hours:

80 hours, with a minimum of 40 hours per year.

Ethics Required:

2 hours annually, but only 1 hour may be taken per year in self-study, starting with the July 1, 2019 period. 1 hour every 2 years must be a MI specific course taken from Michigan Assn of CPAs.

Subject Rqmts:

A minimum of 8 hours annually in Accounting and Auditing. A maximum of 4 hours of A&A can be earned in self-study per CE period. Excess A&A self-study will apply to 20-credit limitation per CE period.

Credit Limits:

  • The maximum credit for instructors is 50% of the yearly minimum hours required per reporting year. Each classroom hour equals 3 CPE hours.
  • Self-study is limited to 50% of the required hours.
